Changing Lives Through Horses

This year, I had the privilege of leading a meaningful photography project that is very close to my heart — creating horse portraits for the inspiring students of Changing Lives Through Horses. Each portrait was thoughtfully crafted to reflect the children’s favourite horses, celebrating the special bond they share with these remarkable animals.

Our young participants, some as young as five years old, added a deeply personal touch by writing heartfelt messages on the back of their portraits. Their words beautifully expressed how the horses have helped them grow in confidence, find calm, and develop a sense of emotional and physical well-being.

These touching creations have come together as part of a community exhibition. Our Christmas tree, decorated with the children’s portraits, is proudly displayed at Fillongley Church and will remain there until the New Year — sharing this uplifting story with everyone who visits.

Witnessing the joy and connection between the children and their horses has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It serves as a powerful reminder of how horses can bring comfort, healing, and strength to those who need it most.

I am also proud to volunteer with the North Warwickshire Equestrian Centre, a community-driven organisation dedicated to providing equine therapy and riding lessons for disabled individuals of all ages. My involvement stems from a lifelong love of animals and a commitment to giving back to the local community.

For me, photography is not only an art form — it is a way to inspire compassion, foster creativity, and make a positive impact. Through every project, I remain dedicated to using my skills to help others and to support causes that truly make a difference.
